Appalachian Environmental Testing & Consulting, LLC (AETC) is a full-service residential and commercial inspection company. Since opening our doors to serve the community in 2014, we have established ourselves as a trusted industry leader providing quality professional inspection and remediation services you can rely on. We have grown to serve a 10-county service area encompassing much of north-central West Virginia.

Meet Our Founder

Company Founder David Beckner is a military veteran and former house “flipper” who began his environmental and inspection career in 2005 when he established Mid-Ohio Inspections in Mansfield, OH, as a Residential Home and Commercial Inspector. Over the years, he continued adding services including mold sampling/remediation, radon monitoring, property preservation, and indoor air quality monitoring.

In 2010, David made the decision to relocate back to Buckhannon, WV, and cease business operations to assist his father in his battle with cancer.

In the Spring of 2014, David established Appalachian Environmental Testing & Consulting, LLC in Buckhannon, WV. He obtained his West Virginia Contractors License, West Virginia Methamphetamine Remediation Contractor License, West Virginia Asbestos Inspector License, West Virginia Radon Measurement Specialist Certification, HUD Multifamily Radon Testing Certification, and NACHI (National Association of Certified Home Inspectors) Mold Inspection & Testing Certification, as well as numerous additional NACHI home inspection-related certifications. In 2021, David added Professional Property Disinfection to our service lineup. He continually invests in the best state-of-the-art materials and equipment to better serve our customers. Recent acquisitions include electrostatic foggers for disinfection to inactivate SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19), disrupt mold, bacterial, and viral pathogens, thermal imaging equipment, and other technical assets for precision mold assessment and home inspection.
